Course Outline

Meet with Photographer Lani Lee and the rest of her team for coffee and bagels. This is a casual time to get situated and meet everyone on the team.  Feel free to ask quick questions and check out the location.

Lani Lee will review your portfolio and goals for your career. During this period, portfolio development will be discussed: How to select which images to include in your professional portfolio. This is a group review and there will be cross discussion between participants. Lite conversation about marketing, branding, and printed materials will also be discussed and where to get things for the best deals.

A lot needs to happen before you even get to set. This time will be used to discuss location scouting, hiring, testing, mood boards, budget estimates, creative estimates, renting equipment and again how to do things on the cheap… We will also go over the documents you will need to protect yourself and make the most of your shoot. Document packet is included.

Lani Lee will go over the optimum kit for photographers seeking this kind of work. Photography is expensive and during the beginning stages there usually isn’t much of a budget. This time will be focused on how to make magic with limited funds, what to spend money on and what to go cheap with. This conversation will also cover hair and makeup needs, styling needs, and how to team up with models.

This is a great time to socialize with your fellow photographers and network and make connections. We will provide a yummy lunch for you along with beverages. (Please let us know of any food restrictions or allergies when you sign up.)

Social Media Marketing for Photographers

None of us can escape the impact of social media branding. Lani Lee will do a quick discussion about success in Social Media Marketing for photographers and how they assisted her in getting work and furthering relationships. Let’s make social media work for you!

We will take around 4-5 looks shooting the models in various outfits and backdrops.  This will be hands on time where she can walk around and help you get the photos you want. This is a great time to ask questions and get some one on one time. Included in your package is 10 Polaroids (you can add on more if you like). Polaroid cameras will be supplied for you to use and go over the basics of getting a good shot along with tricks to getting the best BTS and iPhone pictures from your shoot.

Go home with your amazing story and we will see you next time!
